Credit card search engine

I just received my credit card bill this month.  Along with the statement was a pamphlet highlighting all the stores that I can get further discounts by using my credit card.  I have to admit that some of the deals are really good.

While I have had some unhappy episodes with the bank who issued my credit card, I have to contend that they are by far the best when it comes to promotions and deals.  I haven’t seen another one who can match their standards.

Which is why it is important to dig around before applying for a credit card.  Of course these days, most credit cards are given free and theoretically speaking, no one really has to apply for them.  But the truth is there is an annual subscription fee levied on the cards, so it pays to find out more before accepting the free card.

If you’re checking using the Internet, you might want to check out CreditCardSearchEngine.com, which is one of the Internet’s longest running sites for online credit card comparison.  In fact, it not only list the credit card companies but it allows consumers, business and students alike to search, compare, and apply for all types of credit card offers, everything from low interest and reward card to cards for people with bad to average credit.

So the next time a free credit card comes your way, remember to find out more before actually accepting it.

Twitter is such an inane tool

Remember I wrote that I’ve registered for a Twitter account?  Well, today I deleted the account, after testing it for a month or so and having found it really useless.

It started out kind of fun but the novelty soon wore off.  It’s really inane stuff and I don’t see how fun or useful is it to tell people what we’re doing for a prolonged period of time.  In fact, what I see is that it helps some people feed on their love to brag and becomes another platform to show off what they’re doing.  As if showing off on their blogs is not enough.

Anyway, I deleted the account mainly because I found that I was still taking time to go in there.  So by deleting it, I’ll save some time there for sure.

Insurance a necessity?

I don’t like insurance that much even I know that it is a necessity.  As a matter of fact, I don’t even have a life insurance policy although I have a health policy.  But having said that, I still acknowledge that insurance is important.

Some things in life definitely need such a safety net.  For example, house insurance is important.  Or car insurance.   Speaking of the latter, our car’s insurance is up for renewal soon.  I remember we did claim insurance for a change in our windscreen which cracked.  That was definitely a saver!  Otherwise, we would have to fork out of our own pocket.

And what’s good this year is that I’ll get some rebates.  So that’ll substantially reduced the amount of insurance to pay and ease some load there!
