Videos as effective training tools

My husband said he used to be a part-time waiter at a local hotel years ago while still in school.  One of his most unforgettable moments was toppling a tray of drinks over the head of a lady because he couldn’t balance the weight with his single hand.  It was a disaster.

I believe that problem arose because part-time servers don’t get sufficient training.  While the hotels wanted to save some costs by employing part-timers to ease their workload, they forgot these staff needs to be well trained as well in order to leave a better impression.

If sending these part-time staff for a cost proves to be economically unviable, they might want to consider training them via cheaper resources such as waiter training video which has good tips on serving etiquette.

The Perfect Server offers a comprehensive look at what it takes to provide top-notch service in a restaurant environment.  Viewers will learn from the successes of the “perfect server”, Jane, and laugh at the blunders of “bad server” John as they attempt to satisfy guests, up-sell graciously, and increase their final tips.

By purchasing such a DVD to train their part-time staff, this will definitely save the hotels some training dollars, yet achieve their business objectives.

The waiter training video is produced by Vat19 which also produces other videos such as that on Kapoosh Knife Block amongst others.

Unique on-demand air charter service

private jetHave you ever wonder how the VIPs travel?  While some of them do travel using the normal commercial airplanes and you and I use to fly out to different destinations, many of them actually use private air charter service.  This allows them to travel with much privacy to avoid prying eyes of the public.

And if you’re wondering where they hire such private jets, you can take a look at www.FlyPrudent.com to get an idea.  FlyPrudent offers and an on-demand air charter program and what’s unique is that if FlyPrudent is able to save money on empty legs or one-way flights, they don’t keep the windfall but rather,  pass the savings on to the customers.

So with that savings, customer can fly more more. Definitely a lot more interesting than what the competition is doing!

Cat can smell death

I read with interest in today’s paper about how Oscar, a feline with a keen sense of smell is able to sense death two hours before it is due.

Apparently, at the dementia home that Oscar is based, people who are dying will always find the cat by their side.  Very strange but it seems like she is able to smell death.  So staff takes it as a signal to call the patient’s family whenever they find Oscar cooped by the side of the dying person.

I think there’s something call animal instinct at work here.   Some of them seem to know a bit more than what meets the eye.  Kind of bizarre but it’s not something we can just dismiss lightly.

Interracial dating community with a difference

This is interesting. A dating site focused on interracial dating for women and men looking to find a partner or a date of another race. Something I’ve never come across and definitely breaks the usual stereotyping and norms.

It’s really interesting how the world wide web works. No wonder even the AutoBots from Transformers said they learnt our language through that wonderful medium. Barriers are broken down, and you see more things that challenge the typical mindset.

And as I look at this website on interracial romance, I was surprised to find a good mix of singles from different races, rather than predominantly from a particular race. This seems to imply that people are really more ready to embrace humanity in different shapes, sizes and forms.  Which is truly beautiful.

Afterall, we are in fact the same kind and should stand as united and not be divided by our skin colour.  And remember.  Skin colour is only skin deep.

No signs of pagerank update

I was expecting to receive some new page rank this week but there has been no movement whatsoever.  Has Google made any updates yet?

The last I heard, Google was supposed to have made their updates last weekend but then I didn’t see any movement at all.  All the pageranks on my blogs have remained unchanged.

I’m not expecting much change to this blog, but am hoping for an increase in my others, especially something more than 0 for a new blog I’ve set up 2 months ago.

I tried using some pagerank predictions but they tend to yield differing results.  And anyway, I doubt they’re very reliable as nobody can really tell about pagerank accurately except for Google.

Well, I just have to wait and in the meantime, focused on building my content.
